, February 23, 2010 (ENS) – Cummins Engine Co. Inc., a publicly-traded motor vehicle engine company based in Columbus, Indiana, will pay a $2.1 million penalty and recall 405 engines under a settlement agreement to resolve violations of the Clean Air Act, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Justice Department announced Monday.

, December 22, 2009 (ENS) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today finalized a rule setting stricter exhaust emission standards and cleaner fuel standards for large marine diesel engines on large U.S.-flagged ships, a part of the agency’s long-term strategy to reduce harmful marine diesel emissions.
